Carsten -
Yeah I just installed over the weekend, had little time to really sit down and destroy this project. I must've done something wrong with Lilo, cause when I boot it says "invalid system disk". I also read somewhere that a new version of freevo might come out this weekend. So maybe I'll just wait until then to start that whole process. I will def. take a look at those scripts and follow your advice!
thanks

Hi Peter,
I've bought all the parts needed for a new system, concerning myself with Freevo's compatibility list. I plan on using Slackware 10 with this project, I'm a long time slack user. I intend on installing Freevo via the source. Anyone have any advice for a Freevo rookie / weekend warrior ?
I'm running freevo on slackware 10 on my server and have also installed from source. After i do a lot of manualy work i figured out, that you can make a simple script from the stuff in the dependencies that downloads all needed libs for you.
Take a look to the dependencies page where the "wget ..." examples are. You can copy this text completly from your browser and create a script from that.
Look likes:
#!/bin/sh wget ...
Make it executable with chmod and then all stuff is downloaded automaticly. This saves a lot of work. I don't know why this is not part of the makefile.
God luck and best Regards,
Carsten
