Dirk, thanks for the assist. I've been running the Linux Platform for 8 mo now and learning more every day. I'm amazed and impressed with it's progress and some of the reviews. If I knew more or better yet how to code, I would be more than happy to assist except I can't seem to get up and running with it. I appreciate your candor and feedback. I think the issue with the WIKI is it's just not organized. Date listing leads to endless or time consuming searching and 9 times out of 10, many give up after a few hours or, what they find is not exactly the same, IE; minor differences in HW or APPS - Ver etc). I'll try and see what I can do and if I get up and running, I'll be happy to volunteer my web space to creating some sort of docs and t-shoot space for users if that's permissible by you.

Thanks
Tony

I would have expected this from "Alpha" stage software, not the
release version.

Problem is that you are using more than one piece of software. Freevo
only uses other software on your system and this has it's own config
files.

It would seem there are a lot of bright contributors for this
project

No, most work is done by me. We need more people helping.

however I don't understand why someone hasn't placed a single point
of entry or more importantly; "Point of Interaction" for users to
setup and configure the program like any other does.

Because I have no time for this and nobody send a patch.

I know what I just hinted to above but GUI isn't bad; it's allowed
our community to evolve out from the basement into successful
careers for many.

Someone has to start. Freevo is only a hobby for me besides my real
job. There is one other active developer right now, that's it. One
other problem is that nobody cares about the wiki. It would be great
if someone would create a page with everything you need to do
xy. Nobody does :(

Freevo is a great "Project" and I wish it the best but if anyone
knows of a way to record TV to your system for migration to DVD, I
would welcome those comments.

If that is everything you want and if you have a dvb card, use vdr.
