My version of mmpython is actually a 0.4.8 on gentoo. (i couldn't check this on CVS version)
At line 635 of mpeginfo.py there it seems a debugging line left for error: #if offset + 1000 < len(buffer) and len(buffer) < 1000000 or 1: I think it should be: if offset + 1000 < len(buffer) and len(buffer) < 1000000:
