Another problem with the howto. Where it says:
NOTE! Do not build 'G400 second head support' into the kernel. It will prevent DirectFB from controlling the TV-out. If you really need it, make it a module so you can remove it before using DirectFB. This is incorrect. I was building it as a module. I can't figure out what module, so that i can unload it as suggested. I rebuilt my kernel with it disabled, have all the same modules loaded, and now it works.
