Interesting. I haven't still tried de mp1e thing, but using mencoder sounds good. As I said, this is nearly the only thing that would make me switch to mythtv (this and recording with commercials). I'll try with mencoder, which also would allow to choose the format that fits best. What I'd like to know is: is this expected to work?? I mean, can it record and playback and control the timing and all the things needed? Has anybody used shift tv from a non v4l2 device? Since I'm not a coder, I don't want to waste my time fixing something that can't work. I can only try to get a working configuration for local_conf.py.
