Hi.

For all of you who don't know movix (movix.sf.net), it is a small distro that
allows you to boot the pc into a multimedia environment. Of course I prefer
freevo, I don't want to be a troll, but my point is another one. First I'd
like to know is if would be possible to build a bootable live-cd with freevo
inside. I've heard about morphix+freevo, but it isn't customizable, and not
exactly what I'd like. But what I'd really like to know (if someone knows) is
how movix manages to boot the machine, enable tv-out and use mplayer in full
screen, and everything wasting the minimun resources. I think it uses vesa,
or maybe the frame buffer. I ask this because I'm having a terrible bad time
trying to do this with my pundit-r. The ati drivers are awful, I haven't yet
managed to make mplayer work full screen with vesa. But yesterday I tried to
boot a movix cd and voil, I got tv-out. I didn't manage to play a movie,
perhaps because my sound card is too new, or it only has mplayer-0.92, but if
I could know how they did, I could have my freevo box ready soon.

Any idea?

 Alberto
