My card is an ATI Radeon that could probably benefit from an X video driver. What are the pros and cons of switching Freevo to X? I'm about to reload the box, but I don't want to bother with X if it won't actually help me. Here's what I know:
Pros ---- More extensive driver options available. Acceleration options in some drivers. The ability to use Xine in addition to MPlayer. Other X apps also available, like IVTV viewing stuff for debugging.
Cons ---- More complicated configuration. More drive space used for system files (less for recording). Longer startup times. Need to plug in a mouse, even if it isn't used.
Can anybody help me expand this list?
