I have this problem too in many of my mp3 files. In addition, variable
bitrate seems to be a larger problem for freevo/mplayer combination. Some
files just cannot be played with freevo default arguments to mplayer. I
commented out the argument "-demuxer 17" from mplayer.py and mplayervbr.py
and now I can play most (not all!) of my files encoded with "lame --preset
standard", which produces vbr files. Unfortunately, the time display with
FFWD and RWD does not work right then. It must be a problem with mplayer,
because all the other players play these files without problems.

This is a real problem for me, because I have transferred most of my CD
collection to freevo. I use VDR in the same computer for DVB recording.
