I read and understand problem. Currently i found problem - netblock
not right using CDROM_DRIVE_STATUS and CDROM_DISK_STATUS ioctls.
Netblock not return right status, instead it return 0.
Now try to decide this problem.

I using mplayer only. DVD menu navigation don't need to me.

In project almost features work, but not in this time.
