I don't know whether or not gatos is getting into xorg, however i'd
imagine it would be, ask the gatos guys! Using the gatos driver i had 3D
+XV+TVout it worked great! I even have a script for manipulating the TV
alignment lying around somewhere. However I had a ATI AIW 7500 and this
chip didn't work with the ATI drivers (non of your nvidia unified driver
stuff going on from ATI) it was said by ATI that they wouldn't support
that series of chips in linux and I even talked briefly with one of
their driver developers. I had no choice but to use the gatos driver,
and it worked like a dream! The only thing i couldn't get working was TV
capture. I could view TV on some apps, but the image format was
ridiculous and only supported by a small minority of strange unusable
players
