Hi, I have been using mplayer quite successfully for playing and recording SDTV DVB streams. I can also record HDTV with digital sound or 5.1 mpeg sound, which can be watched after encoding only (due to the missing index file screwing up mplayer I assume).
The only problem is with sound which starts off choppy and then just stops, shortly followed by the video cutting out as well when mplayer stops. Has anyone else had similar problems with ac3 or passthrough sound with mplayer (only with DVB - AC3 works perfectly fine when playing movie files)? Does using xine fix this, and if so how do you add xine as a TV viewer for freevo?
