Try to install mandrake (mandriva), AFAIK there are enough updated packages of freevo, and the install process is really easy ( installation from internet repository ). Once you got it installed, browser the freevo wiki for mandriva, and use google to learn how to install packages with "urpmi"

have fun.

I hate to the typical noob here, but I am new to both freevo and linux. I have tried to build HTPCs on a Windows platform and have been very disappointed by the outcome. What is the easiest distro to install freevo on? Is there a step by step how-to for those of us that are trying to learn a new OS and build an HTPC at the same time? Any help would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Barrett
