Yes, this is "normal." It's not particularly acceptable though (IMHO). This delay will not be present in Freevo 2.0, since the EPG code has been completely rewritten. Parsing is much faster too. (On my system, from one hour to 90 seconds.) What you should do is run freevo tv_grab, instead of running xmltv directly. Freevo will then include that long process (which is converting the guide xml to a format easily readable in python) in the tv_grab, so you won't have to wait in the GUI. Cheers, Jason.
