I used matroxfb for a long time, then I decided I wanted to try to get
mame working.
So I went from matroxfb:
mplayer (hardware scaling etc)
xine
no mame
And I went to DirectFB:
mplayer (sucking CPU, seems like lots of stuff like scaling done in
software?)
no xine (to DirectFB support... that I can compile atleast)
mame almost working
Can people share their experiences with these two methods on a G400DH?
For instance:
Anyone ever have mame working on a raw matroxfb?
Anyone have mame working on DirectFB (on G400) in a stable way?
Anyone have xine support under DirectFB working?
Will mplayer->DirectFB->G400 ever work as well as
mplayer->mga_vid.o->G400 as far as using hardware?
