This is my first post on here, so please bare with me. I have been trying for about a week to find a solution to this myself.
I'm making a freevo (1.5.4) box for my parents (my mom is not a computer person). So far everything is going great. I love freevo, it looks awesome, it runs great, my parents are already using it, and they love it.
I'm using slackware 10.2 on a via epia me6000 as the base system. I am using freevo -fs and xorg 6.9. Video quality is quite good. Everything works... Except for one minor little issue (which is really quite important): Xine and Mplayer are intercepting key presses and using their own key mappings. This would be fine except it annoys me. I tried running "mplayer -slave" by itself and that works find, it grabs input from stdout just like it should but not in freevo. Mplayer uses the freevo keys for audio in freevo. I've also been playing around with the framebuffer, and when I open freevo with fbdev, xine and mplayer both use the proper freevo keys. So, I imagine I'm having some kind of Issue with X. I want to use X though, because I can't get video scaling to work well with fbdev or directfb.
Anyone run into this? How do I tell if mplayer is rejecting the -slave option from freevo? This seems unlikely, because it must be accepting it for the audio stuff......grrrr.
Thanks in advance
