I have the identical problem.... also on an EPIA M. I'm using slackware. Mplayer Video and Xine won't use the freevo keys. I posted about this a couple months ago, but recieved no satisfaction.

Hi to all.

I have a media center based on epia m.
It works very well,
and I have only this problem.
I have xine as preferred dvd player, but
when I see a dvd the keyboard don't receive the freevo keys to see the
dvd menu, subtitle. Whereas the keyboard accepts the xine keys to
navigate on dvd.

Some idas?
thank you
