Do you have dmix enabled with alsa? If so, try disabling it and see if
the sync issues go away. Unless you actually need dmix -- and if all
you run is freevo on that box you probably don't -- it should be
disabled. It creates far too many problems in my experience.
Do you happen to knwo what i put in my asound.state file to disable it?
