I use a 2.4Ghz AV sender to send my Freevo output from the front of my
house to the 80cm TV at the back of the house, about 15m. It has to go
through various walls, but it usually works ok if I orient the receiver
and transmitter properly. The picture is not as crisp as a DVD or direct
connection, but good enough for me.

The main problem is that my neighbours now have 2.4Ghz LANs, baby
monitors, and telephones. These all cause serious interference these
days, mainly crackling noise in the audio, and horizontal lines in the
video. I've gotten used to it, but sometimes it is unwatchable.

A 5.8Ghz AV sender helps with the spectrum crowding, but the higher
frequency will not penetrate as far or through walls as well. And you
have a long distance to go.
