It looks like mplayer is not installed correctly, which version of
mplayer have you installed?

I think there is a problem with random number generator, do you have a
device called /dev/urandom?

Never seen "Cannot allocate memory" errors before so maybe you could
describe you hardware, processor, ram, video cards, tv cards, etc

The # is a comment so you haven't set it, remove the #.
local_conf.py is a python script so it needs to conform to python syntax
rules. So when you see:
[] they are lists
{} are dictionaries, ie key value pairs
() are tuples
"" or '' are strings
What version of freevo are you using?
BTW it's better when you add a subject with a short description of the
problem.
