  You could start with a base fedora 6 install and then just add from
there. Or if you want to sweat it a little do minimal gentoo or
slackware install. Gentoo has an emerge for freevo and I supply
Slackware packages. I think the Slackware pacakges will also work on
Zenwalk which  is a minimalist distro.
