Does it usually quit working after not being used for a > little while Thats interesting, I'll make sure that ACPI is disabled, I don't think this is the case as the usual problem would be watching tv, go to change channel and the device won't tune to the new channel. I also think there are wider problems because I cannot get any app other than xine and scan to actually make the device tune. Things live tzap and dvbstream just don't work, so at the moment I am relegated to only being able to watch tv - no recording :(

I will try using another port to see if that makes any difference. I have a quite new VIA SP13000 mobo / chip combo so I don't think that would be the case.. but its worth a try. I am watching live TV. What I did do was copy the same code change and merged it into my xine.py under the tv/plugins code for watching TV. I only need the rmmod and modprobe there - having restarted freevo thats got round the issues I have with it stopping working... now if only I could get tzap dvbstream etc. to work and record TV!
