Thats interesting, I'll make sure that ACPI is disabled, I don't think
this is the case as the usual problem would be watching tv, go to change
channel and the device won't tune to the new channel. I also think there
are wider problems because I cannot get any app other than xine and scan
to actually make the device tune. Things live tzap and dvbstream just
don't work, so at the moment I am relegated to only being able to watch
tv - no recording :(

The usb stick is straight into the mobo, although it is currently
plugged into one of the heads, rather than the dedicated port on the
back. I will try using another port to see if that makes any difference.
I have a quite new VIA SP13000 mobo / chip combo so I don't think that
would be the case.. but its worth a try.

Thank you both for your suggestions, I'll try and report back.

I tried merging the changes from the rel1 stream, but modifying
video/videoitem.py didn't work. I am watching live TV. What I did do was
copy the same code change and merged it into my xine.py under the
tv/plugins code for watching TV. I only need the rmmod and modprobe
there - having restarted freevo thats got round the issues I have with
it stopping working... now if only I could get tzap dvbstream etc. to
work and record TV!

Thank you all for your help!
