Just another datapoint: I have two freevo running on on an old dell PC,
smp with 2 x 800 MHz Pentium III, 256 Mb of memory.  I'm only using the 
webserver interface, but it is working fine memory wise.  When transcoding to 
mpeg4 some patience is required.
