I had a problem with my box because of the daylight savings change this year. When you execute the 'date' command on your freevo box, what does it give as the time? If the system time is off by an hour, you need to update one or another package on your system to fix it. Oddly, the stable version of Debian requires an update to the c library, but the unstable and testing versions require an update of the tzdata package. Probably a google search for your distro and daylight savings can find you the correct package to update if it is system wide.
