Err.. probably not..  From memory, xine requires longer than Mplayer
to exit cleanly.

Probalby whats happneing is freevo is getting impatient and killing
xine before it's had a chance to release the video driver.  Not sure
how to do this: but to test that theory, you need to extent the time
freevo wait's before issueing kill-9 to children..
