Thanks for the offer but there could be some problems with that solution. First of all I already got some donations. It would be rude not to use them for the server. Second of all, there is no such thing as a server directly for Freevo for that kind of money. Let me go into more details here: The current Freevo SVN server is a private server rented by a friend of mine. We are some people who need a private mail server and some webspace for our private domains. We split the costs and everyone uses it. We split the costs about how much someone uses the server, Freevo SVN is running on my share. The server contract expires in Juli and we want a new server. If I pay more money, I get more from the server, in this case 10EUR/m (+ setup costs) and I get an IP address and some space to setup a virtual machine for Freevo. The server we have in mind is the DS5000 described at http://hetzner.de/rootserver_en.html Also working at a University I see a problem in funding a part of a private server. At least here I could never get it done. And I don't think your college wants to pay us our private playground. I also got another offer for hosting some Freevo stuff. But the idea is that we want to keep the stuff on a private server where we have root access to do stuff. The current sf solutions is very hard with Wiki write access and we can't install extra modules. We will rent that server, there is no way around it. We have people to run it. The question is only if Freevo stuff is on that server, too. I would like to have control over the server without too much extra admin work. Dischi -- One nuclear bomb can ruin your whole day.
