I did it a couple of months ago, but I reformatted the computer. I
remember you have to create a script for the desired application and
configure it to start in the default runlevel. I copied and renamed one of
the scripts and rewrote the commands to start freevo instead of the other
app.
On the other hand, I think you can add a normal init script, because
upstart runs every script in the rcN.d directory (at least I had system V
runlevel scripts that were called by upstart).
