Take a look at perlbox (www.perlbox.org).
A python bases text to speech and speech to command.
I would really like this as a addon to Freevo!

I think it'd be very nice and easy to integrate the headlines plugin with
festival so freevo would speak aloud the news.
I'm a programmer, but I have very little knowledge of python. Could someone
give me some hints about how to do it?
