One of the upstart goals was to use dbus and events to see if the
network is up, a disk have been pluged etc...

I think this bucle should be removed and the check for network to
be done in /etc/event.d/epg.

I don't know how to do this but in the following URLs[1][2]
it seems possible to do something like

  start on network-interface-up and started freevo

Maybe Ubuntu and upstart have not reached there yet and the
network-interface-up event is not emited but I think it's
worth to investigate.
