Thanks, I had to something similar at one time with my AMD64 machine
MPLAYER_AO_DEV = 'alsa:device=hw=0.0'
but in later drivers I found a hidden, in the GUI setting, IIRC it was
IEC958 Playback AC97-SPSA which need to be changed.
