Hi there,

So, you see me in shame... after days strugling  with this, I give the
manual a third read, open the panel and found a disconected wire!!!
after reconnecting, everything works!!! Now I have the remote, the
VFD, etc.

Just for the record, remote is a usb device 1308:c001 as expected, and
it works. VFD also works, so if anyone was thinking about buying this
little box, or buying the front pannel, go ahead as it is fully
supported under linux.
