mpd plugin merely starts mpc and shows status of what is playing on the mpd server. It doesn't go for any basics like stop, play and pause nor for advanced things like adding to the playlist or searching. So at this point on the globe the concept is to improve on the mpd plugin with stop, play and pause and another button to call a graphical client. While pympd fits with the python based nature of freevo, its search abilities are limited to artist and title so we are looking at a number of graphical clients (java ones excluded) to see which offer best search algorithms. I have netjuke which provides my main music management now integrated with a mpd client and am looking for similar search abilities in any client called from freevo.
