Found some howtos to install the dongle on my Debian 4.0 (2.6.18-5)

> irattach /dev/ircomm0 -s
or
> irattach /dev/ttyS0 -s
> irdadump

runs, hope so? When i connect some cellphones with an ir device, they have
been recognized.

Followed the documentation to use lirc, but it does not work.

lircd --driver=help does not list the driver.

> lsmod | grep mcs
mcs7780 11492 0
irda 162588 6
irtty_sir,sir_dev,ircomm_tty,ircomm,irda_usb,mcs7780
crc_ccitt 2240 2 mcs7780,irda
usbcore 112644 5 irda_usb,mcs7780,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd

tested all avaible drivers on both devices -> irrecord: could not init
hardware

> irrecord -H $1 -d /dev/ttyS0 lircd.conf
