Not all, I use X on my purpose built media center. The only caveat is you need either a IR remote and receiver or some other way (bluetooth dongle and phone) that won't be intercepted by X and sent to the in focus window. I use an IRMan receiver and an old Hauppauge remote to control freevo. In fact if you don't use X you won't be able to see the lovely new dialogs/on screen displays the livepause plugin uses (you will need kaa.display installed for this, get it from the subversion repository). One final thing don't bother with a window manager, you won't need it! cheers Adam ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Freevo-users mailing list Freevo-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freevo-users
