I noticed the version number was wrong in /var/log/freevo/prompt-<myuid>.log, so I guess it was loading parts of the old systemwide installation. I removed that, and tried again. This means I'm now stuck with using the newer kaa libraries that crash it, although the prompt command still works ok.
