Please ignore my message! I had some double quote characters in the MPLAYER arguments (because I have multiple DVB-T/DVB-S cards and I needed to add an argument to specify the card # and I put double quotes around the dvbin card argument). It didn't look wrong in the debug output but it obviously messed up the mplayer command.
