It's been a while, so I don't recall exactly what the problem was. I think I managed to get freevo to run using X, but there was some problem with getting it to do fullscreen or using the resolution I wanted or something like that. Probably just a config issue, but at the time I simply couldn't figure it out (which I'd like to think would have been solved with some better docs ;).
