Is it possible that you have lirc enabled in mplayer or xine? XINE_ARGS_DEF = '--no-lirc' MPLAYER_ARGS_DEF = '-nolirc' If these are enabled in the players then they will process the remote control events and Freevo will not see them. When they are disabled in the players then Freevo read the events and sends commands to the players.
