Hi, I've been using a MCE (Microsoft) media remote for a few years now with freevo and have always found input sluggish compared to using the keyboard. Turns out simply changing the priority lircd process solves this for me (using lirc-0.8.3):
sudo renice -19 `echo \`pgrep lircd\` | sed -e 's/ /,/g'` Hope this helps others.
