Can you post under a new subject what you think is lacking from the wiki, where is comes up short and what would really help a new person in getting up and running? If not and you can test for a while it might be an idea to propose it as a bug fix. It could be as simple as a patch to local_conf.py that suggests people enabling the appletrailers plugin use this if it doesn't make sense to have it as a default.
