rebootvs taking ages

"rebootvs" on any of my VSes seems to take for ever

It says "Sending all processes the TERM signal", hangs around for ages then
eventually "Sending all remaining processses a KILL signal".

"vsboot --restart" however, is mega-speedy in comparison.
