The existing pre-built skels were produced using vsd-genskel.pl after
installing and configuring the necessary software on the hosting server. The
resulting /home/vsd/skel directory was then tarred and bzipped. Using
vsd-genskel.pl isn't ideal and we are looking into better ways of producing
working file systems - perhaps taking a direct image of a suitably
configured server installation. There is some overlap with the work the User
Mode Linux project does producing pre-built distro file systems, so it may
be worth a look there as well.
