VSD Client Security Issue

As VSD Client can be used with the -noSSL option, how can you prevent any
old person using the program to gain access to your VSs using the program
unless your VS has SSL support compiled in?

I assume we need to block a port on the host server using ipchains?  Could
anyone enlighten me on how to do this?
