Hey All, I've been kinda lurking on the list for a while now, but I don't actually have a FreeVSD server set up yet, as I am still waiting for my new server hardware to turn up. Hopefully I will get it this week, so I can start playing with it. I do have a few questions though, before I plunge in head first, and I apologise if these have already been answered somewhere: A pointer to the information would be very helpful. I have gathered that the best distribution to run it on at the moment is RedHat 6.2. Does it work with Mandrake yet, as that is my distro of choice at the moment... How easy is it to upgrade packages, for example, for security updates? Lets say I allow FTP access to the server. What would I need to do to upgrade the ftpd package? Is it just a case of install the updated packages on the host server and that's it or is it more complicated? How easy is it to set up different servers 'packages'? Lets say I want to have a variety of different server options. Some with MySQL, some without. Some with PHP, some without. Some with different quota amounts. What about Frontpage extensions? I think I vaguely get the idea about the skels. You create a skel with everything that you want inside it and then choose which skel you want to use when you create the virtual server? Is it easier just to run different physical servers? What exactly does the admin user have access to? Can they create users on their VS? Can they create databases on their VS if MySQL is installed? Can they create multiple domains on their VS? Hope these questions don't seem too stupid.. Darryl
