Certainly losing the client info is disastrous if you're trying to run
affiliates, or just need the referrer info, but I'm not clear about why
it should affect https any more than standard http. Using Apache
1.3.20 with mod_ssl, using both Thawte and Snake Oil certs, https
seems to work just as well as standard http here.
OTOH, my earlier post about installing a 2.4.x kernel into RH6.2 was
a little premature. Iptables will not work properly, and the most likely
reason is that stuff is missing that is found only in RH7.x. Don't yet
know what, but I will persevere on this.
