Hello,
The 1.4.9 freevsd packages were "tested on, and built for 7.1". This
means that the version of glibc supplied with the packages is that
packaged with RH 7.1 (which is different from RH 7.0), hence the
conflicts you are getting. I would recommend that RH 7.0 users use the
freevsd-pkgs from the 1.4.7 release, as the 1.4.9 packages have been
completely upgraded to match the versions supplied with 7.1. The
differences between the two are as follows:
1.4.7 packages:
fileutils-4.0-21.i386.rpm
glibc-2.2-12.i386.rpm
glibc-devel-2.2-12.i386.rpm
glibc-profile-2.2-12.i386.rpm
openssh-2.1.0p2-1.i386.rpm
openssh-clients-2.1.0p2-1.i386.rpm
openssh-server-2.1.0p2-1.i386.rpm
openssl-0.9.5a-1.i386.rpm
openssl-devel-0.9.5a-1.i386.rpm
procps-2.0.6-5.i386.rpm
proftpd-core-1.2.0pre10-1.i386.rpm
psmisc-19-2.i386.rpm
qpopper-3.1b1-1.i386.rpm
sh-utils-2.0-5.i386.rpm
util-linux-2.10k-2.i386.rpm
1.4.9 packages:
fileutils-4.0.36-4vsd.i386.rpm
glibc-2.2.2-10vsd.i686.rpm
glibc-common-2.2.2-10vsd.i386.rpm
glibc-devel-2.2.2-10vsd.i386.rpm
glibc-profile-2.2.2-10vsd.i386.rpm
openssh-2.9p1-1.i386.rpm
openssh-clients-2.9p1-1.i386.rpm
openssh-server-2.9p1-1.i386.rpm
openssl-0.9.6-1.i386.rpm
openssl-devel-0.9.6-1.i386.rpm
procps-2.0.7-8vsd.i386.rpm
proftpd-1.2.2rc2-1.i386.rpm
psmisc-19-4vsd.i386.rpm
qpopper-4.0.2-1vsd.i386.rpm
sh-utils-2.0-13vsd.i386.rpm
util-linux-2.10s-12vsd.i386.rpm
vm-pop3d-vsd-1.1.4-1.i386.rpm
The vm-pop3d rpm should work on both, so that can be left in (or added
to) the /usr/share/freevsd/pkgs directory. It may also be worth while
noting that the .i686 file will not work on i586 (or other) machines due
to the changes made to the structure of the glibc shared object
libraries. If anyone requires a i586 glibc please let me know and I
shall build one and post it.
Hope this helps,
Damion.
