Hi George,

That is what I typed to start everything in the first place. Are you sure
you didn't do anything else?

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I have been running web servers for a number of years, but for some reason
I am having a really hard time here. I will detail what I have done below
and hopefully someone can toss me a clue.

1) Built a new computer and installed rh 6.2
2) Downloaded the freevsd "recomended installation"
freevsd-1.4.9-1rh6.i386.rpm and freevsd-skel-1.4.9-1rh6.tar.bz2
3) I performed the "quick start installation" exactly as shown in 2.1 of the

INSTALL file
4) I created a virtual server exactly as shown in 5.1 of the INSTALL file.
5) I tested my virtual server. ftp, telnet, pop3 and smtp all test fine.
6) When I try and lynx to my virtual server, I get this error:
---start---
Looking up 192.168.0.90.
Making HTTP connection to 192.168.0.90.
Sending HTTP request.
HTTP request sent; waiting for response.
Retrying as HTTP0 request.
Looking up 192.168.0.90.
Making HTTP connection to 192.168.0.90.
Sending HTTP request.
HTTP request sent; waiting for response.
Alert!: Unexpected network read error; connection aborted.
Can't Access `http://192.168.0.90/'
Alert!: Unable to access document.

lynx: Can't access startfile
---stop---

The main server is .83 and .90 is not being used anywhere else. (I also
tried .91 just in case.. same results)

I had briefly installed freevsd version 1.4.8 and the httpd worked fine..
exact same machine, exact same setup. But I removed it because 1.4.9 came
out that same day.

I have read every bit of documentation I can find and really searched these
archives.. I can't find anything that works. Does anyone have any ideas for
me?

Thank you!
