Okey... first.. i have got the same problem my self with rh7.1(preffer slack
:-P) and i got that timeout thingie.. just like you did.. i tried looking
around to find the problem... and the problem i found was that i didnt have
enough diskspace......... (and i tought that i had enough)...

so if u get more diskplace it might work..


hope it helps a bit =)

(this was teste in vmware (as i didnt want to ruin my server as it was))....
