I would recommend getting hold of a pre-built skel (which include PHP4,
MySQL, Sendmail and Apache + others) and then upgrade the necessary
applications within the skel (either by rmp --root, or compiling into /usr
within the skel). That way you will have a known working skel to fall back
to if you encounter problems.
