I have been reading through the Mailing list and the docs that came with
freevsd, I am having trouble figuring out how to install bind into a VS. I
am using vsd version 1.4.9 on redhat 7.1 with a prebuilt redhat 6.2 skel.
Everything is working great finally. INCLUDING MY WEB ADMIN :-) Which it
seems most people are having trouble with. In reading the Mod_bind howto it
said add "include /var/named/named.conf" in the /etc/named.conf on the
hosting server. "/var/named/named.conf" does not exist on the hosting
server or the VS. In setting this up am I supposed to have bind up and
running on the hosting server or inside a VS? I have 2 existing bind8
servers which are not running vsd. Am I supposed to use them? I do know bind
very well, have been using it for years now, however this is my first
experience with vsd. The info I think I need is as follows.

1. Where is bind to be installed (Hosting Server? External Server?
Inside a VS?)
2. Do I need to install the bind rpm's into my skel? Or is what is
needed already in the prebuilt 6.2 skel?
3. If I am using external DNS servers do I need to make a provision in
their named.conf using the "allow update from" directive?

If I can figure this out with your help I would be more than happy
to write more comprehensive documentation.

        Thanks Again

        Steve
