maybe Nick could qualify what he has running on those 60 VS's ? Because I would guess not much, we have 3 commercial machines running freevsd and performance is worrying us. 1 runs red hat 6.2, freevsd 1.4.9-2 with the FreeVSD pre-gen skel - the hardware is:
Dual 933MHZ 1GB Ram SCSI drive This particular server has 36 VS's on it and only puts out 22GB of traffic (measured at average) per month, none of the sites are resource hogs and all do about equal in traffic. The physical memory used is always around 65% - by physical memory actual used less cached and buffered, and the load averages are steady at around: 0.11 0.15 0.09 This is a live commercial example not a test bed machine and we would be interested how other people have found commercial implementation as far as server performance is concerned Steve > > CPU - > > Cyrix P233 > > > Memory - > > 128Mb > > > Disk capacity - > > 6Gb > > > # of virtual servers - > > 60 > > > Estimate of # of domains - > > 250 > > > Well, we ran a setup of this spec for a couple of years. > Requirements from the customer are a little more these days, > so you'd probably want to go with the suggestion in the documentation > since that was taken from a spec. that I gave according to what DSVR > was running at the time. > > > > Nick. > > ------------------------- The freeVSD Support List -------------------------- > Subscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=subscribe%20freevsd-support > Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=unsubscribe%20freevsd-support > Archives: http://freevsd.org/support/mail-archives/freevsd-support > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > ------------------------- The freeVSD Support List -------------------------- Subscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=subscribe%20freevsd-support Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=unsubscribe%20freevsd-support Archives: http://freevsd.org/support/mail-archives/freevsd-support -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
